Rose-Marie Barbeau is Research Impact Manager at the University of Glasgow. She coordinated the impact element of the University's 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) submission. Her academic background is in International Policy Studies (MA) and French Linguistics/Literature (BA Hons), and her pre-HE professional background is in the international development sector. She utilises the information and experience from the REF to assist Colleges and individual academics to understanding and expand their impact activity and research user relationships, supporting their knowledge exchange activity in order to maximise potential impacts. Through formal training modules, presentations and individual sessions, she assists individuals and teams in formulating and implementing impact plans, and advises on evaluation tools and other means of capturing/ documenting impact. Rose-Marie also manages the £900k University of Glasgow Knowledge Exchange Fund, advises on applications to other impact acceleration funds, and has been responsible for the development of a knowledge exchange & impact repository.
