Elena Buck is a research associate and co-ordinator for administration and strategic development at the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute. Her academic background is in political science, sociology and economics. After her diploma in political science at Leipzig University, her interest in knowledge transfer and production between academic and non-academic partners remained important in her work in political education. Before joining the Göttingen Diversity Research Institute she worked at the Saxon Centre for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education where she was responsible for evaluation, quality assurance and diversity measures as well as facilitating workshops. Her current research interests focus on politics of belonging, naturalisation policies and intersectionality.
